Gold guide

Introduction

To begin with, this isn’t a gold farming guide on “how to make 2000g an hour”. This is some easy ways to make quite a good profit from quite a small effort. I spend maybe half an hour up to one hour a day, relaxing abit from work and doing some farming. This brings me approx 100g a day in auction house. I don´t do this for the gold it self, for me this is only another aspect of the game. Like playing cards, I like to play the auction house.

So how does it work? This short guide will tell you the method I use.

AuctionHouse (AH)

The auction house is where you sell all your farmed items and resources. But you don’t just want to put them out there to get rid of them, you want to get good profit from them as well.

An auctioneer or a Banker

A good thing to do right from the beginning is to create a “banker” or “auctioneer”. This is simply one character whose only purpose is to store and sell your items and recourses. Mail everything to him and let him put it in AH.

Know your auction house and sell at the right prize!

To begin with you have to know your AH. Search and read about every item you think of selling and soon you’ll know what is a fair, regular or high prize. (to make much gold you want to sell at a high prize all the time.) Many people always try to sell cheaper than the other ones in AH and therefore the prizes get lower and lower. You don’t want to do this, instead decide what you think is fair, for you, and sell at that prize, if that means waiting a week or two for the right prize that’s fine

Stack size

I’ve found it easier to get away with a high prize if you stack resources, like skin and flowers, in stacks of 2. Some people don’t need 20 of one thing or don’t have the 20-35g to pay for a 20 stack. Here’s where you auction comes in handy, you sell in a neat 2 stack at a price of 3-4g, that means a higher prize per each, but overall a more affordable amount.

Sell at the “right time”

Never think that there is one specific time when it’s best to sell, there isn’t. True is that more people play at weekends so there’s more action I AH. But that also means that the AH faster gets filled with goods, and the prizes goes steady down as the weekend goes on. The evening/night from Friday to Saturday seems like the best time in weekends. People start playing more and not too many goods are in AH. Sell high and sell A LOT. BUT, don’t forget to keep an eye on the AH in the weeks as well, sometimes the prizes of your favourite goods get sky high, then you want to ride that wave, even if it’s only Monday or Tuesday.
